Under the influence of lobbyists for private companies, State Senator Robert Nichols sold out Texas citizens by actively supporting the massive give-away of Texas assets known as the Trans Texas Corridor. As you may recall, the TTC called for 4000 miles of infrastructure corridors crisscrossing Texas. These corridors were to be the width of four football fields and carry everything from cars and trucks to oil and gas pipelines, power grids and even broadband internet data. And guess what? Everything that traveled these corridors would pay a toll: your electricity, your gas, your internet data, everything you buy that is shipped by road and, of course, you personally when you drive across Texas. And who receives most of the tolls? You guessed that also – the private companies that lobbied State Senator Robert Nichols and contributed to his election in an amount that made him the top lawmaker recipient of their largess behind only Dewhurst and Perry. If that is not enough to make you sick then consider this – the private companies are primarily foreign and not even Texas companies creating Texas jobs.

Strassel: The President Has a List
Barack Obama attempts to intimidate contributors to Mitt Romney's campaign.

Try this thought experiment: You decide to donate money to Mitt Romney. You want change in the Oval Office, so you engage in your democratic right to send a check.
Several days later, President Barack Obama, the most powerful man on the planet, singles you out by name. His campaign brands you a Romney donor, shames you for "betting against America," and accuses you of having a "less-than-reputable" record. The message from the man who controls the Justice Department (which can indict you), the SEC (which can fine you), and the IRS (which can audit you), is clear: You made a mistake donating that money.
Are you worried?
Richard Nixon's "enemies list" appalled the country for the simple reason that presidents hold a unique trust. Unlike senators or congressmen, presidents alone represent all Americans. Their powers—to jail, to fine, to bankrupt—are also so vast as to require restraint. Any president who targets a private citizen for his politics is de facto engaged in government intimidation and threats. This is why presidents since Nixon have carefully avoided the practice.
Save Mr. Obama, who acknowledges no rules. This past week, one of his campaign web sites posted an item entitled "Behind the curtain: A brief history of Romney's donors." In the post, the Obama campaign named and shamed eight private citizens who had donated to his opponent. Describing the givers as all having "less-than-reputable records," the post went on to make the extraordinary accusations that "quite a few" have also been "on the wrong side of the law" and profiting at "the expense of so many Americans."
These are people like Paul Schorr and Sam and Jeffrey Fox, investors who the site outed for the crime of having "outsourced" jobs. T. Martin Fiorentino is scored for his work for a firm that forecloses on homes. Louis Bacon (a hedge-fund manager), Kent Burton (a "lobbyist") and Thomas O'Malley (an energy CEO) stand accused of profiting from oil. Frank VanderSloot, the CEO of a home-products firm, is slimed as a "bitter foe of the gay rights movement."These are wealthy individuals, to be sure, but private citizens nonetheless. Not one holds elected office. Not one is a criminal. Not one has the barest fraction of the position or the power of the U.S. leader who is publicly assaulting them.

"We don't tolerate presidents or people of high power to do these things," says Theodore Olson, the former U.S. solicitor general. "When you have the power of the presidency—the power of the IRS, the INS, the Justice Department, the DEA, the SEC—what you have effectively done is put these guys' names up on 'Wanted' posters in government offices." Mr. Olson knows these tactics, having demanded that the 44th president cease publicly targeting Charles and David Koch of Koch Industries, which he represents. He's been ignored.
The real crime of the men, as the web site tacitly acknowledges, is that they have given money to Mr. Romney. This fundraiser of a president has shown an acute appreciation for the power of money to win elections, and a cutthroat approach to intimidating those who might give to his opponents.
He's targeted insurers, oil firms and Wall Street—letting it be known that those who oppose his policies might face political or legislative retribution. He lectured the Supreme Court for giving companies more free speech and (falsely) accused the Chamber of Commerce of using foreign money to bankroll U.S. elections. The White House even ginned up an executive order (yet to be released) to require companies to list political donations as a condition of bidding for government contracts. Companies could bid but lose out for donating to Republicans. Or they could quit donating to the GOP—Mr. Obama's real aim.
The White House has couched its attacks in the language of "disclosure" and the argument that corporations should not have the same speech rights as individuals. But now, says Rory Cooper of the Heritage Foundation, "he's doing the same at the individual level, for anyone who opposes his policies." Any giver, at any level, risks reprisal from the president of the United States.
It's getting worse because the money game is not going as Team Obama wants. Super PAC's are helping the GOP to level the playing field against Democratic super-spenders. Prominent financial players are backing Mr. Romney. The White House's new strategy is thus to de legitimize Mr. Romney (by attacking his donors) as it seeks to frighten others out of giving.
The Obama campaign has justified any action on the grounds that it has a right to "hold the eventual Republican nominee accountable," but this is a dodge. Politics is rough, but a president has obligations that transcend those of a candidate. He swore an oath to protect and defend a Constitution that gives every American the right to partake in democracy, free of fear of government intimidation or disfavored treatment. If Mr. Obama isn't going to act like a president, he bolsters the argument that he doesn't deserve to be one.

This is legit. I checked it out myself at https://www.iardc.org Stands for Illinois Attorney Registration And Disciplinary Committee. It's the official arm of lawyer discipline in Illinois; and they are very strict and mean as . (Talk about irony.) Even I, at the advanced age of almost 65, maintain (at the cost of approximately $600/year) my law license that I worked so hard and long to earn.

Consider this:
1. President Barack Obama, former editor of the Harvard Law Review, is no longer a "lawyer". He surrendered his license back in 2008 in order to escape charges he lied on his bar application.
A "Voluntary Surrender" is not something where you decide "Gee, a license is not really something I need anymore, is it?" and forget to renew your license. No, a "Voluntary Surrender" is something you do when you've been accused of something, and you 'voluntarily surrender" your license five seconds before the state suspends you.
2 Michelle Obama "voluntarily surrendered" her law license in 1993.
3. So, we have the first black President and First Lady - who don't actually have licenses to practice law. Facts.

4. A senior lecturer is one thing, a fully ranked law professor is another. Barack Obama was NOT a Constitutional Law Professor at the University of Chicago.
5. The University of Chicago released a statement in March 2008 saying Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) "served as a professor" in the law school-but that is a title Obama, who taught courses there part-time, never held, a spokesman for the school confirmed in 2008.
6. "He did not hold the title of Professor of Law," said Marsha Ferziger Nagorsky, an Assistant Dean for Communications and Lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago School of Law.

11. And this is the same guy who lectured the Supreme Court moments later in the same speech?
When you are a phony it's hard to keep facts straight.

John Tweedel, that is just part of it.
BHO said "someone paid" for his education, so first off his own statement is contradictory and he aint bright enough to know it.
Now – where did he go to school from when he was 10 to HS? Punaho, the most expensive private school in Hawaii. And his college years? He didn’t pay for any of it – one of his puppet masters did.
So your point plus the two above makes three strikes on this one Obama excuse for truth.

NASA Scientists and top Astronauts Denounce NASA Administrator’s ‘Unproven Remarks’ on Global Warming cause.
Fifty top scientists, astronauts, and engineers who have worked for NASA are attacking the space agency’s stance that man-made carbon dioxide is responsible for global climate change.
Seven Apollo astronauts and the deputy director of the space shuttle program are among the experts — with more than 1,000 years of combined professional experience — who have signed a letter to NASA Administrator Charles Bolden.
This is another of Obama's appointees, Bolden was confirmed by the Senate on July 15, 2009. He is the first African American to head the agency on a permanent basis. Bolden has served honorably in the USMC and he is a Vietnam Veteran before becoming an Astronaut. in 1980. An admiral career, unfortunately he has tarnished the reputation of NASA and the Goddard Institute by promoting the progressive philosophy of Global Warming and Climate Change, one can only surmise that his ulterior motives for this is to embolden the Obama Green movement with his pseudoscience espousing Al Gores unsubstantiated Global Warming BS.
The letter begins: “We, the undersigned, respectfully request that NASA and the Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) refrain from including unproven remarks in public releases and websites. We believe the claims by NASA and GISS that manmade carbon dioxide is having a catastrophic impact on global climate change are not substantiated, especially when considering thousands of years of empirical data.
“With hundreds of well-known climate scientists and tens of thousands of other scientists publicly declaring their disbelief in the catastrophic forecasts, coming particularly from the GISS leadership, it is clear that the science is NOT settled.
“The unbridled advocacy of CO2 being the major cause of climate change is unbecoming of NASA’s history of making an objective assessment of all available scientific data prior to making decisions or public statements.”
The signees charge NASA with advocating an “extreme position” on climate change “prior to a thorough study of the possible overwhelming impact of natural climate drivers.”
They conclude: “At risk is damage to the exemplary reputation of NASA, NASA’s current or former scientists and employees, and even the reputation of science itself.”

ATF shuts down Mr. Bosse's gun store in Brenham, Texas Folks, it’s happening right here in Brenham , Texas ....They will be moving faster and faster before the "election." ATF shuts down Mr. Bosse's gun store.You hear stories about how President Obama and his czars are determined to dis-regard the 2nd amendment and take away our rights. I always thought these were political ploys by the Republicans and other political organizations to "scare" us into donations, etc. but today I learned first hand just how anti-American and communistic this current administration is and how they do "business", Chicago style! Our oldest local gunsmith here in Brenham, John Bosse, has been a dealer and gunsmith forever. He recently got called to meet with ATF officials in Houston .. John keeps his paper work straight so he packed up his stuff and went and met with them. Out of several hundred gun sales he has made in the last year, about 10 transactions popped up, and 1 was a gun I had purchased to take on my African trip, a .338 Win Mag bolt action Howa, not the kind of gun a dope dealer would arm his "soldiers" with. John had taken photo copies of my carry permit and other transactions which proved that I was worthy of purchasing this gun. Didn't make a difference to the henchmen at ATF! They had one thing in mind, take away the man's dealers license and nothing he could do would change that! None of these transactions were suspect, but they didn't care, they wanted to get another small dealer out of the way! Well, John's smart enough not to pick a fight with idiots when you can't win so he just walked away and came home, picked up his phone and called his attorney, planning to let him fight it out. Well, those of you who know John know he is in his early 70's, smokes like a steam engine, and isn't in that great of health. This attorney told him he might as well retire, that at the rate of attorneys fees for fighting this thing and the number of hours required in federal court to get his license back he would never recoup his legal fees selling guns. I have talked to several other small town gun dealers and it seems to be the way ATF is doing business, make it too hard for them to stay in business or have to spend too much money to fight to stay in business. I guess the dealers that sold the guns to the Mexican drug dealers in Obama's Fast and Furious fiasco are the only people ATF trusts to carry out the plans of this government. Time to straighten this c*** out, Vote and keep voting until we get the people in place to return this country to WE, The People! Keith A. This just happened in Brenham , Tx . Our back yard! Coming to a town near you! FYI….ATF shutting down John Bosse’s gun store in Brenham…….Unfortunately “YES”!!!! What is so frustrating is usually you see them every 3 or 4 years for a visit. They come in and check your records. They have paid John a visit about 5 times in the last 18months, nit picking on little things just looking for a reason to get him in trouble. They were definitely on a mission to close him down. Well, they finally succeeded. My brothers all told him we would pitch in to help him fight but he said it’s not worth it…. As of the end of December he will no longer be selling guns and will have until the end of February to get all of his repairs out of his store and back to the owners. I have my own opinion of what has happened. I’ll tell you about it over a beer or three on our next hunt!!!! It’s a SAD day in America no doubt………………….. Spread this around to everyone you know.. If you are looking for some shells/bullets at a really good price you better go while they last… He has the good RIO ’s we used at Kruse’s dove hunting… He has a few pistols left and about 5 riffles..
