ACTION ALERT: Call Committee Chair tomorrow to help save local TV.

Help save small business and local television stations. Help fight to save free over the air television.  On Thursday there is an important vote taking place in Congress.  This will be the first of many important votes where your voice needs to be heard.  The current language they are voting on will not protect thousands of community (LPTV) stations.  

 

You could lose your favorite channels and shows, if this passes.  Right now the Republican Chairman of the Committee, Greg Walden, is the person pushing the current language.  He needs to hear from you first thing in the morning.  Call each of his offices (numbers below)

 

Tell the person who answers the phone something like this, but do it in your own words:

I am calling about the "Jumpstarting Opportunity with Broadband Spectrum Act of 2011".  It does not protect low power community television stations.  Do not vote for any auction that doesn't protect ALL television stations. Republicans should be protecting these small businesses and churches that run low power television.
